Limited Capacity filling up

Computer science (CS) isn’t only for technology and CS classes, it can be incorporated into any content area in many different types of lessons and is engaging for students in upper elementary classes (3-6th grades). In this session, you will see examples of how elementary teachers in NM are integrating CS and enriching their students’ learning and will start to use some of the free platforms like Scratch, Alice, StarLogo Nova and Makecode. No prior experience in CS is needed but if you are already familiar with CS concepts, you can get some ideas on how to engage with colleagues for cross-disciplinary projects that use CS for project-based learning.
